It’s no secret that the Farangbowl is nuts about motorcycles. Having driven past a local motorcycle wash shop in Chalong called ‘Super Bike Club’ on several occasions I noticed a couple of interesting motorcycles in the window and thought there might be a bit more to this place than meets the eye. I wasn’t wrong!!!

I had previously met with the owner of ‘Super Bike Club’, a Thai man called Khun Ronnie and at that time there were just customer bikes in the shop being cleaned. Khun Ronnie said he was more than happy for the Bowl to review the venue and mentioned he had a Harley we could look at. On the day I scheduled the review I couldn’t help but notice this stunning Rosso red Ducati Corse spec bike parked outside. It turns out that Khun Ronnie is a magician with a twist, whereby rather than rabbits, he pulls rare motorcycles out of his hats.

“I’ve always loved Ducati’s, this is my second”.

The boys got down to talking to Khun Ronnie and his Thai lady assistant Khun Sai. ‘Super Bike Club’ has been in business for two years now and appears to be going strong. The concept behind the business is that you can bring your machine in for a clean and also relax in the café come diner area and enjoy some soft drinks and a game of pool whilst you wait. Aside from washing bikes Khun Ronnie and his assistant also locate bikes to order for those that are in the market. Whatever you’re looking for, they will find it for you. The third prong to ‘Super Bike Club’ is customizations and we were lucky enough to see some of their work following the interview.
Khun Ronnie went on to tell the Farangbowl about his own two-wheeled collection which consists of a Harley Davidson Street Glide, a rare and stunning Honda CBX400 Café Racer (My favorite), and a pristine Ducati Panigale V4 Corse. I asked Khun Ronnie how on earth he found this Panigale and he just smiled and replied “I’ve always loved Ducati’s, this is my second”.

Ad and I walked around the shop and got a good look at the CBX and the Glide, both great-looking machines in great condition. Before we met the Ducati Khun Ronnie introduced us to Khun Jeab who is the in-house mechanic that is responsible for the customizations.
One of his projects was a vintage immitation‘Harley Davidson’ that he created in two weeks using a steel bicycle frame and a 50cc Honda engine. It was a passion project and looked cool on display. A real demonstration of what ‘Super Bike Club’ is capable of.

It wasn’t long before Khun Ronnie pulled out the big guns and showed us the Ducati or his 2nd wife as he refers to her. This bike sent shivers of joy up my spine and I fell in love at first sight. We had a very brief look at some of the personal modifications Khun Ronnie made and then we filmed him riding the bike around Chalong and Rawai. It was mind-blowing and I totally get why he calls this bike his 2nd wife.

If you’re in the area readers and you love bikes you might want to pop into the ‘Super Bike Club’ and grab a drink and talk to like-minded souls.

Thank you to Khun Ronnie and Khun Sai at ‘Super Bike Club’ for a superb day…
