Rossovivo Red

My ex-girlfriend was from Sardegna and I studied Italian for 3 months in Firenze (Florence) Italy, so I think I know my Italian food.

When a friend invited me for dinner at the Rossovivo I was skeptical as not all Italian Restaurants in Thailand meet expectations.

The Special Menu board.

The Rossovivo Restaurant sits in Fisherman’s Way which is on the left hand side of Soi Viset going from Chalong circle (round-a-bout) heading south into Rawai.

It is a grand looking restaurant that at times makes you have to remind yourself that you are in Thailand and not in Italy. It really does give you that mediterranean experience.

The service is superb and food arrives together and as expected and this is where the Rossovivo shines. I ordered smoked salmon taglietelle in a vodka cream source and a banana flambe for dessert.

The moment my food arrived I ralised that I was in for a treat. I have not had pasta this good in years and this was without question the best Italian food I have had in Thailand. My banana flambe did not disappoint and tasted better than expexted.

Dining on the terrace al fresco.

The restaurant describes itself as authentic Italian cuisine and a Pizzeria at reasonable prices and I do not question that. The food isn’t cheap, however, it is not too expensive. I will not tell you how much the meal cost but I felt like I got what I paid for and that is great food.

As well as homemade pastas, main courses include fresh seafood and imported meat, wood fired pizzas and homemade desserts.

Mario (the Rossovio Owner) and Andrea (the Manager) also invite guests to try dishes from the special menu created every week (see chalk board photo above right).

The Rossovivo also comes equipped with a fine selection of wines all displayed in racks for customers to choose.

Diners can also choose whether to eat on the terrace al fresco or inside the well decorated and authentic restaurant. As the weather was good when I visited, I chose the terrace.

Thank you to all the staff at the Rossovivo.
